Resiliency & Emergency Planning

Resiliency and emergency planning is a comprehensive planning process for assessing risk and vulnerability in a community, business, or organization and developing strategies for prevention, protection, response, recovery, mitigation, and, when needed, adaptation. Examples of resiliency and emergency planning efforts include hazard mitigation, emergency operations, business and community resiliency plans, and climate adaptation plans. A resiliency and emergency planning process involves the whole community, including community leadership, private industries, community facilities, education, healthcare, and transportation.

Focus Area Scope

We are committed to supporting communities, the private sector, and the region in developing resiliency and emergency plans.  We can provide technical assistance and facilitation in developing plans by working with a community, business, or organization to inventory existing resources and analyze risk; identify operational needs and resource demands; utilize scientific data, predictions, and plans to forecast potential impact; identify innovative solutions for resiliency and adaptation. We can assist with assembling people to collaborate and work across sectors and across the community to gather information for plans as well as build and strengthen the community and social capital needed to implement the plans and respond to future risks.
