Textiles are a particularly difficult material to recycle, here in the North Country it is even harder. Providing residents with the means to recycle fabrics helps to keep them out of the landfill.
Household Hazardous Waste/ Special Waste Disposal
Household Hazardous Wastes includes any material that poses a threat to the environment and requires special instruction for disposal. NCC assists in regional transfer stations in planning and implementing several HHW collection events.
Medical Waste Disposal
Medical waste includes sharps as well as any material that is potentially contaminated with blood, or a body fluid. Medical waste in landfills poses a threat to the public as well as landfill workers.
Solid waste facility operators in New Hampshire are required to become certified by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services. Each year operators must take a minimum of 2.5 continuing professional development credits per year. North Country Council assists those in obtaining their needed hours.
