Intercity Bus & Rail

Intercity Bus

North Country Council’s planning region is served by two intercity bus routes:

Berlin – Boston
Two southbound and two northbound trips daily. Stops in Berlin, Gorham, Pinkham Notch, Jackson, North Conway, and Conway. South of Conway, this route makes stops in the Lakes Region, the I-93 corridor, and South Station and  Logan Airport in Boston.

Littleton – Boston
Two southbound and two northbound trips daily. Stops in Littleton, Franconia, Lincoln, and Plymouth. South of Plymouth, this route makes stops along the I-93 corridor,  at South Station, and at Logan Airport in Boston.

Passenger Rail

There is currently no passenger rail in the North Country. The nearest passenger rail route is Amtrak’s Vermonter.

There are also “excursion” trains within our region that offer scenic train rides in the summer and fall:
The Hobo Railroad, which operate a Lincoln – Woodstock route and a Lincoln – Plymouth route.
The Conway Scenic Railroad, which operates a route from North Conway to Crawford Notch and Bretton Woods, along with a Valley Route from North Conway south to Conway Village or north to Bartlett.
The Mt. Washington Cog Railway, which climbs to the summit of Mt. Washington from Marshfield Station, on the western slope of Mt. Washington.
