Who Governs the North Country Council?
The Representatives have overall responsibility for the direction of the Council, through an elected Board of Directors. The Council’s Bylaw’s state that…“The Board of Directors…shall have general policy direction over program for the Council…The Board of Directors shall act for the Council in all matters except the adoption of the annual budget and adoption and amendment of the region’s Comprehensive Plan.
Representation on the Council shall be appointed in accordance with Article II-A and the terms of office shall be as provided by RSA 36:46 and amendments thereto. The Officers and Directors of the Council shall be elected by a majority of the Council Representatives present at the annual meeting. This shall be done through a voice vote.
